Trevor Kobrin - Photographer

  • Dallas photographer, Trevor Kobrin has traveled extensively and lived and photographed in five countries – South Africa, England, France, Switzerland and now the USA.
  • Kobrin graduated from Pretoria Technikon, and went to work assisting several distinguished photographers in Europe.
  • After four years Kobrin returned to Johannesburg where he focused on a career in editorial and advertising photography. He won several prestigious photographic awards including the Fuji Profoto, Ilford Profoto and South Africa’s premiere advertising award, “The Loeries” for an African Aids Awareness Campaign. In 2009 he won a national"ADDY" award.
  • His photographs have appeared in international publications including Elle, Marie Claire, Schweizer Illustrierte, Style, Readers Digest and other major South African magazines. He has worked with several prominent advertising agencies, including McCann Erikson, Ogilvy’s, BBDO and Leo Burnett, working on both their local and international accounts. Clients and Campaigns include MacDonalds, Fanta, Coco Cola, Life Line. Kobrin has photographed such world renowned figures as South African President Mbeki, President Jimmy Carter, Viscount Lindly, son of Princess Margaret, International Literary author Bryce Courtney, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and others.
  • Since arriving in Dallas Texas in 2002 Kobrin has photographed for D Magazine, D Home, Dallas Design Book and other publications as well as several advertising agencies. He was recently one of a select group of photographers commissioned to do portraits of heart attack survivors for the American Heart Association. Kobrin recently commissioned to take photographs for PEP (Prisoner Entrepreneurship Program) founded by Catherine Rohr.
  • He continues to work with and support many humanitarian organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Reach for a Dream and Big Thought.
